The clouds continuously roll up & over as the wind curls them above the Sierra Nevada's. It takes hours before they finally escape and blow quickly over Carson City - note the clouds to the left vs the clouds that didn't make it, to the right. It's fascinating to observe!

Every morning, there seems a glorious sunrise here! Looking south over Carson City.

It happens all of a sudden; one second the skies are bright, the next, everything darkens as clouds find their way across the summit, dampening everything in their path.

No chancing the motorcycle this morning!

It's tiny, but temporary. Honestly, Jeff and I are both surprised how doable a small place is. Especially when we spend most our time outdoors anyhow.

Living on the backside of the Sierra Nevada's, we get storms at night, but the skies quickly clear come morning, leaving us with warm days & evenings. Our first nights here (late March) were freezing cold, far colder than our house in Pollock Pines on the California side of Tahoe. However today, Pollock is still suffering snow and spring storms, while we are hitting the 70's here in Carson. I wonder what summer will bring. This is the high dessert. If it gets too hot, we will certainly head for Pollock, 65 miles away on the other side of Tahoe.
