Isn't it amazing now the feathers grow out encased in shafts which recede from the tips, like little feather dusters? I'd never realised that that's how feathers grow until we got our baby cockatiel!

Yes, and how the pointy end tips of that casing has to break off for the feather to blossom. I love your "feather dusters" description. It fits so well. Thumbs up
