One of my first paintings
This painting was entirely a case of trying to fix something and only making it worse hahaha - and it seemed the more I tried to fix things, the worse it became. His chest is too sunken in, his eyes a little too wide/squinty, and his neck a little too gray. The model is from an old sepia colored photo found in one of the local antique stores. This picture is included in the One picture is worth 1,000 denials - paintings photo album belonging to Badger. It has been uploaded on 22 Jul 2010 at 11:10PM. Not sure what is about it exactly, but I think its great. He appears to be a battle worn warrior. Posted at 22 Jul 2010 at 11:15PM by dawn1968 Re: One of my first paintings He could be. The larger Indian painting titled New Dawn Rising appears to be the same man from the old photos, though the paintings really don't show that lol. The original sketch on canvas did portray it some, but I am still really new to painting and just couldn't capture it with acrylic. Oil would have been even worse!
