Teeny Tiny
Dah Ling barely weighs a half pound, but I think she's about 4 or 5 months old. She's lost that "kitten" fluff that younger kittens have, and seems to have a maturity of an older more experienced cat. Cochise can't ruffle her feathers what so ever, as she just ignores his attempts to get her to run from him and he really freaked out when instead, she snuggled right up to him and promptly went to sleep. I am no expert on cats however. What age would you suggest she is? This picture is included in the Dah Ling - Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference photo album belonging to Badger. Posted at 3 Dec 2012 at 2:18AM by kittyrambo Re: Teeny Tiny Yes, old soul is right. She must have had a very rough first few months to make her so, don't you think? How much should a 4/5 month old kitten weigh? I am thinking about four pounds...is that right?

I'll dig out the cat book a friend gave me awhile back see what it has to say.

Posted at 3 Dec 2012 at 5:33AM by Badger Re: Teeny Tiny The cat owners book states kittens between 8 & 12 weeks should weigh about 2 to 3 pounds but I have yet to find what kind of gain should be made after that.
Posted at 3 Dec 2012 at 5:43AM by kittyrambo Re: Teeny Tiny She's at least 12 weeks for sure despite her small size. At that, she would be underweight about a pound and a half.

Posted at 4 Dec 2012 at 6:51PM by CazzA Re: Teeny Tiny Check her teeth to see if she has all baby teeth, or if her adult teeth are coming in, or are all in! That's the easiest way to get an idea. Normally, they start losing their baby teeth around 15 wks., and should have all their adult teeth by 6 mo. for sure. Posted at 5 Dec 2012 at 5:19AM by oldog Re: Teeny Tiny I asked at the vets office today. The techs said a 4-5 month old kitten should weigh around 4 to 5 pounds, with a female kitten being on the lower end of that.
