Catching Up Fast!

Dah Ling is 3 pounds today! Dancing Awesome considering she was a little over a half pound only two weeks ago. Her eyes are almost clear, though we are still fighting mites in her ears. Any suggestions?

ps...don't you just love her little pink toes!

Re: Catching Up Fast!
get rid of those ear mites ASAP. They will drive the cat bonkers.
It seems they all start buzzing together - sounding like a thousand mad bees.
I personally have never heard them. That's just what my cat told me many years ago. Smiling
Go to the vet. he/she will give you some oil to put in the cat's ears.
Have an old towel handy to wrap around the cat; squirt the oil into each ear, holding the cat's head firmly; then put the ear flaps down over the opening and rub a bit. When you let go of the cat's head is when you're going to need the towel because the cat is going to violently shake it's head to get rid of the oil. Half of it will probably fly out and all over you and everything else within 40 miles, so be prepared. The other half will stay in kitty's ear to kill the active mites.

You will need to do this periodically because this treatment kills the hatched critters, but not all the eggs. So treatments every few days for a while are needed to kill to newly hatched babies. After we went through this treatment process, our cats never went outside again.

Re: Catching Up Fast!
Can I use any medicated oil Steve? I already took her to the vets this month to the tune of a small fortune. If it could be avoided for another month would be best for my pocketbook.

Re: Catching Up Fast!
Probably, Mary.
But you wouldn't have to take the cat for a visit.
Just call the vet, and ask for the oil (prescription or over-the-counter ... I'm not sure). Then you can just pick it up w/o paying for an office call.

I've never looked, but maybe could buy it at a PetSmart store, or even online.
Let me know how it all works out.
