Re: Too fast for the camera!
Some nice shots here.
Three Tips on action shooting:
1- Raise your ISO to a significantly higher number. If this was shot at 200, go up to 800, if 400, perhaps as high as 1600. It might be a little grainy, but you'll have better success. Play with it and see.
2- If you have the manual control, set the f-stop to the lowest setting possible. you want a faster shutter speed, so you need to let in more light.
3- If all of this is already done, you need to have some stable surface for the camera. If none is handy, have a monopod available if possible. Barring even that, if there is a rail you can rest your elbows on, your body can be a sort of tripod.

Re: Too fast for the camera!
Thank you Marc! It was pretty dark out (even though there were stadium lights on which only seemed to confuse the camera), and I was intermittently shooting at 2400 to 4800 ISO (playing at what worked best as the light diminished). The few shots I tried above that at 5400 and 6400 were washed out completely. Somehow the VF got shut off, which I didn't figure out until the next day, which caused quite a few issues. FallingBlushing Would that have made a difference? Still learning how to manage the manual focus. Question for you...This was shot with a Canon 7D. What camera setting should I be using for long moving shots like this?
