California's fires are some 450 miles away, down south, so this sunset isn't likely caused by them. The sun had long gone down on this side of the Sierras when this photo was taken, and these clouds were blowing up over Lake Tahoe collecting color of the sun on their backs. Just one of the reasons Carson City is blessed with such incredible sunsets and sunrises.

I am starting to worry that Carson City gets so many, my hard drive will soon be full of sunset and sunrise photos lol.
