This is a beautiful pic! The colors, the shapes, it's very arty. The rocks are such an unusual color compared to the ones in Ohio. It looks like a fantastic place to visit.

Do you know what kind of rock it is? Is it sandstone or something else?

I honestly don't know, but would guess a type of sandstone. It was a hard shale like stone, and not porous at all.

the red look could be due to small red moss type of vegetation spreading over the rocks.

The red is a sort of marbled color in the rock itself. Is there a red granite? If so, that might be it. Either of you have time to write Bilko and ask?
