Ick & Davi Playing Together

These two big boyds now chatter all day together. While Davi only says "wooohooooo" along with several whistles he's picked up from Ick, Icarus has a complete vocabulary menagerie. Ick is a very vocal bird and will often rattle through all the words he knows, sometimes singing them, sometimes just speaking them as if he were conversing to himself. Among the things he now says are:

Thanks bookfox! I hand raised these two boyds (Ick from day two when his folks abandoned him, and Davi from an egg a year later), so their first words feel much like a babies first words feel to his mommy lol.

Impressive, very smart bird he is....so he knows you burn the bacon hehehe...it's funny how pets know things.
I once set off the smoke alarm while making buffalo wings and now every time I make them my chi tucks her tail and looks around worriedly while sniffing the air, she kills me! Falling

So right. African Grays have the maturity and smarts of about a five year old child and are especially quick to pick up on the relationship of sounds/words to things! I haven't burnt the bacon Grinning however, the smoke detector is set so sensitive, it always goes off when I cook bacon. LOL So that fry sound needs the beep beep beep to make it right in Icks eyes...just like a whistle for the dogs should have a "com'on" after it, and Jeff coming home from work means someone should say "Hello there handsome!".
