It just blows my mind, that this is a lake and not a sea!!
Fresh water I wonder? Certainly not scale, not a single thing from the opposite
shore showing, incredible!! I look across the English channel I see France!!

It did feel vast! From what I understand, you can see the Sears Tower on a clear day.

Fresh, all the Great Lakes are. Michigan is about 600 miles long and 100 mile swide, more or less. Through the St Lawrence ocean going vessel can reach the north Atlantic....and when the winds right.... it's not flat
