Rootin Tootin Ranch BarBeeQue at the Chuck Wagon

There is nothing quite as fun as joining a dinner club. The one I belong to has a dozen families that belong and gets together once a month (nice 'cause you only have to host one dinner a year). This one started with this fun invite:

Set a side Saturday June 18th 2011 for the largest cowpoke BarBeeQue this side of the Mississippi at tha ole ranch!

Yur' cowboy hat is starting to collect dust an ya'lls humming the theme song to the classic TV western "Bonanza." Rather than talk in yur' sleep, calling out square dance directions or bein' drawn to pointy snakeskin boots and chaps, round up yur'self and yur' ole lady pardner, and git yur'self on down to the ole ranch wearin' your best duds! Yur ole jeans, western shirts, range hats, boots n spurs, elk hide vests, bandana, guns, n denim skirts, well, they's all good attire here.

We need cowhands ta bring:
Corn Bread
Corn on the cob
Taters
Beans
Chili
Chips n salsa
Dogs n sausage
Hogies n dog buns
Coleslaw
Jello salad
Something ya'll make special
Desert

Ta volunt'eer, "reply to all" with the item ya'll claim first rights ta bringin, so's we don't have no gunnin in the streets. The chuck wagon is sportin ribs n steak burgers for anyone quick on the draw, n left overs for us slow folk plus young'un sasparila. Bring your own suds. Regardless, we expect a response so as we know ifn you is coming or aint.

Agin', that's Saturday June 18th 2011 anytime after 5 in tha afta'noon, the chuck serves at 6! Tha herd is waitin! Chill'ins n chickens welcome.
