Showers Lake is the highest lake in the "Upper Truckee River Basin" and seems to sit at the top of the world at 8,790 feet. A small lake, it's far bigger than it looks in this photo. At the far end, the water plummets 200+ feet over the edge of an old man made dam and you can overlook the Tahoe basin.
