If you look closely, you can see Davinci's little tongue. The end of the tongue in African Grays is void of glands and usually dry. Though, their mouths are not entirely dry as they produce some saliva. They have salivary glands around the base of the tongue, all around, front and back and in the soft palate in the roof of the mouth, near the back.
