What a darling photo! We've got a baby cockatiel - well, she's got her feathers now, but if you want to check her out as dinosaur baby, it's the only photo in my album so far - I've got some more that I'll upload soon!
With little Peeky I had to watch that I didn't overfill the crop! Because her greed would fail to tell her to stop I had to learn from the little darling regurgitating when to stop feeding....it's amazing watching the food go down into the crop before they have feathers - you can actually see the lump moving and travelling down - and the noise they make when they eat!!! nothing like the peace and quiet of when they are weaned and eating seed!
What kind of bird is your baby, Badger?

Peeky is so adorable Selene! It is hard to not overfill the crop...I have to carefully measure the feeding based on Davi's weight each day, and hungry or not, that is all he gets each feeding. Otherwise he surely would burst!

For some reason, my birds start eating seed much later than they should. I offer it as soon as possible but they hold little interest with it. I've had much better luck serving small pellets chopped up to start weaning them.
