Goal setting
I know they say goal setting is important but I am having a hard time meeting the April goal. I am only down 3 pounds and April is dwindling away quickly. It gets frustrating and makes me want to eat because really who cares? It is not like it is coming off anyway. I have now started the Wii Fit and am addicted to it and am on day 8. Maybe it will help me get off 7 more pounds in just 7 days???

a) If you can't meet a goal then give up trying, better yet, undo all the good worrk done so far.

b) If you can't meet a goal then move the goal posts.

One of the above will help keep you moving forwards. Winking 3

It's nice to have steady progress but the human body doesn't always want it that way. Sometimes it wants to change the pace a little, take it a bit easier, and then pick it up again after a while. It's not letting you down any more than having to go to bed at night is letting you down.

Remember that the aim is not to reduce your weight rapidly but to find a healthy lifestyle that you can maintain for life. If it takes a year to get down to X pounds but you can't keep doing whatever it was that got you there (such as a specialised and controversial diet) then you haven't achieved as much as if you take three years to discover a style of eating and exercise that gets you down to X pounds and that works well enough that you can enjoy continuing to do it for the foreseeable future.

Down 30 pounds and counting...
A few years ago I lost over 100 pounds on Atkins. Now I have unfortunately gained all that and then some back. I am now on a renewed attempt to get the weight off and keep it off once and for all. This is the time I am cutting back, not snacking, and exercising. I am hoping this will be the "trick" for getting it all off and keeping it off. I am now down 30 pounds. Hoping to make it another ten down by the end of April. We shall see how it goes...
