was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Drifters' version was a top ten hit in 1956.
Dion rose to #2 with his single in 1962.
It was a hit in 1969 for John Woolley and Just Born.
In 1974 Billy Craddock's single was a #1 country hit.
Ol '55 reached #36 in Australia in 1978 with their single. It was included on "Cruisin' for a Bruisin'".
The song has been recorded by countless others through the years.
My favorite version of the tune is by Donald Fagen. It appears on his debut solo album "The Nightfly" from 1982.
