Posted by ChipsChap on 2 Oct 2024 at 4:48PM I can't speak to the rules on this site but a relatively easy to understand comparative summary (and a lot more) is here: https://www.solitairelaboratory.com/checkers/checkers.html (#5635110) Rule Re-Writes
Posted by Point01IV on 2 Oct 2024 at 4:23PM Is it possible to request a re-write to the rules of the checkers variants? I enjoy checker games, but not an avid player, so I don't immediately know the rules when I play a variant, even if I've played before. We don't make it so easy to pick back up with a variant, though. A common one that I've ran into problems before is Pool Checkers. The "Variant Information" title tells me how it differs from Russian Checkers, but not standard checkers. So I go to Russian Checkers to see how it differs from standard checkers; however, there is no variant information and I have to read all the rules very closely to find the differences. It becomes very confusing to me and I've slipped up a few times in my games as a result, especially when balancing more than one game of different variants at a time. It would be very helpful if each variant simply stated in which ways the variant differs from standard checkers unless it just doesn't make sense for that variant. Could this be a consideration? Please and thank you! |
