Posted by Whimjest on 6 Sep 2024 at 9:13AM Ditto. I’m glad that I made that mistake on the Beta Site.

Posted by Jools on 6 Sep 2024 at 5:01AM yes that's fine. Maybe I just don't get the strategy, as I said I won't play any more once I've finished my current tournies.

Posted by hoof hearted on 5 Sep 2024 at 3:33PM 🫠 personally I am enjoying the game. That's the fun of a new game thats strategic. And I don't like it when other people try to take away my fun doing that. If you don't like the game, you don't like the game oh well. There are plenty of others that do.

Posted by rabbitoid on 3 Sep 2024 at 6:47AM It would appear that in Nepal they agree with you: https://kathmandupost.com/art-culture/2021/09/09/bagh-chal-a-native-board-game-on-the-brink-of-extinction (#5628271) Re: Stalemate
Posted by Jools on 3 Sep 2024 at 4:20AM Thanks. I've decided I really don't find the game interesting so after my current tournament won't bother with it anymore.. No point playing games you don't enjoy (#5628254) Re: Stalemate
Posted by rabbitoid on 3 Sep 2024 at 1:16AM It's certainly harder. The game is not solved so there is no proof either way. I recommend reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bagh-chal. It introduces the game better than our "rules", I think, though as far as I can see it comes to the same. In the "external links" section there's a link to a research paper, very long and boring. It explains why the game is so hard to solve. Here's the link: https://web.archive.org/web/20120313050451/http://www.yewjin.com/storage/papers/Computing_Tigers_And_Goats.pdf . Have fun reading. Posted by Jools on 3 Sep 2024 at 12:47AM Is it possible for goats to win if they have had pieces captured?

Posted by Jools on 12 Aug 2024 at 10:38AM I don't it's possible for me to win, I don't have enough goats to block in the tigers. I'll see how it goes (#5623419) Re: Stalemate
Posted by rabbitoid on 12 Aug 2024 at 7:16AM It could be a draw, I don't know. The game is too new, none of us has sufficient experience to form an opinion. If both of you don't know how to win the game then by all means offer a draw

Posted by rabbitoid on 11 Aug 2024 at 9:47PM Don't forget to read the section "Stalling Prevention" In the rules. It's supposed to prevent just that sort of problem.

Posted by hoof hearted on 11 Aug 2024 at 3:12PM I kind of thought the same thing and resigned my first few games but then I started playing them through and it does change around. I regretted resigning.
(#5623210) Stalemate
Posted by Jools on 11 Aug 2024 at 1:13PM Do most games end up just going round in circles? I can't see how the games are going to end. Either not enough goats to block the tigers, enough spaces to move without risk. Or just 1 blank space that we both move around (#5615958) Board size
Posted by Jools on 8 Jul 2024 at 12:56PM Any chance of some different board sizes in the graphics options?

Posted by rabbitoid on 5 Jul 2024 at 7:31AM You start the game with 20 goats to place, which you have done, one was captured, you have 19 left. You now pass to the 2nd stage, moving: click on a goat which can move, and move it to an empty space near it. And try not to get eaten, lol Good luck (#5615310) frozen
Posted by Whimjest on 5 Jul 2024 at 7:15AM Game #14371923 says that I am playing the goats, but I cannot place one on the board. Does anyone know the trouble desk number?

There's a link to a research paper someone has written about the game: https://web.archive.org/web/20120313050451/http://www.yewjin.com/storage/papers/Computing_Tigers_And_Goats.pdf . read it only if you have trouble falling asleep.
