Concerning The July 2010 - 10-banneros prize tourney, I might add that African-American Straight Checkers is just like the GoldToken standard game of Checkers with only one rule difference, the sliding (or flying) king.
The king can move and jump long, just as in Pool Checkers, International Checkers, etc.
There is no jump-the-maximum rule.
One takes to ones advantage.
