Creating fun graphics takes an incredible amount of time, as do the many aspects of managing a big game site. There is no way I could handle it all on my own. Here on GoldToken, we are working at creative ways for players having a difficult time to earn a membership. We really do want you to be able to play all the games and enjoy the benefits of being a greater part of our GoldToken family. August's game of the month is Ludocarte! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The August 2013 - Game of the Month - Ludocarte! Tournament!  Why play Ludocarte instead of Ludocrous? In Ludocrous, no matter what you roll, you always go forward and all of your strategy is based on that concept. Ludocarte takes that concept and turns it on his head. Instead of 6, 8, or 10 possible forward options, it gives you:
The whole strategy in playing is different when you start trying to think backwards as well as forwards. July's winner is: Potatoe Salad
A family favourite..I hope you enjoy it Smiling Potatoe SaladIngredients 8 – 10 medium potatoes, cooked and diced 1-1 ½ cups mayonnaise 1 tablespoon yellow mustard 1 tablespoon green relish 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic plus 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 celery stalks, sliced 5-10 green onions cut into small pieces 2- 3 hard-boiled eggs cooled Dash of Paprika Directions Boil, cool and dice potatoes into a large bowl. Mix mayonnaise, salt and pepper, mustard, relish, garlic plus in a bowl and mix well. Add mixture to potatoes Add onions and celery. Mix well. Slice and stir in eggs. Sprinkle a little paprika on top. What brought you to GoldToken? My sister cekj introduced me to GT. She had no idea what she was starting! How'd you choose your name for GT? A good friend always calls me Smiler and I love the number 5   2. What interests you most on GT? What interests me most is the sheer variety of what the site offers! At first it was learning new games, but then I took on some responsibilities here and wiki-editing became the priority. Now,as a Club Owner, it's thinking of ideas for new and different tourneys!  -Your all time favorite game here? Can't possibly choose just one! I really do like variety. If pushed I would probably go for Hanging Diceman though.  3. Do you belong to any of the clubs? 41 clubs at the moment! I am a President in 6 Clubs, including Olympic Team Juno - Go Go Go Team Juno!  this year. I'm also the owner of The Daily Laugh Club which I love running with my great team of Officers.   4. What State or Country do you reside in? I live in County Durham in the North East of England. England Do you live in the City or Country? What in your State or Country do you think tourist should definitely see? I live in the town,  but am surrounded by beautiful countryside,  less than 5 minutes away.  Durham Cathedral is a wonderful historic place .....a 'must-see'. I would also recommend a visit to Stratford (Shakespeare's birthplace) and to my favourite British city, Edinburgh. 5. What hobbies to you have? When I retired I was invited to join the local Rotary Club. I love being involved in several community projects and having fun at the same time! What other interests do you have? Reading is my greatest passion. I can't imagine life without books! I love to discuss literature on the Library  DB here at GT. I also enjoy crosswords,  swimming,  theatre, bridge and travel  6. Children? Do any of them play on GT? No children but I do have 39 godchildren (quite a challenge when it comes to birthdays!) and 2 lovely nieces. They haven't yet succumbed to the GT habit.  7. Do you work? If so what kind of work do you do? Do you enjoy your job? I taught English and French to children age 11 to 18, then became the Headmistress (Principal in the US) of a day and boarding school in 2003. I retired in 2011. I absolutely loved my job. What can be better than sharing what you love with young minds!  Every day brought a smile 8. Any pets? No pets.I worked very long hours so not conducive to having a pet. Somehow I seem to be equally busy post-retirement!  9. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Over 50 in years, but still a kid at heart!  10. What's the farthest you have been from home? Was it a vacation or for business? China, Malaysia and Indonesia are the places furthest from home to which I've travelled. I made several trips to these places to meet the parents of the boarders at my school and to recruit new ones! 11. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be? Right here! I am a contented person and enjoy life. It would be good though to have a pool in my garden  ...........Can golderos buy those?  12. Favorite season? Autumn..........love the colours! I am a wife, mother and grandmother from Massachusetts, USA and have been a member of Gold Token since Feb of 2002. Being a novice of the computer, I started playing a few games and manged to type in Hi, Good Luck, then got my nerve up and joined The Wolf Pack, led by RabidWolff. this great pack of wolves taught me how to play in club tournaments and made me feel right at home. Eliphont551 and Cachel of the M8's took me under their wings and showed me how a club is run, making wiki's and running tournaments and was appointed as an officer in their club. Then I met Porkpie1, he gave me the opportunity to help run his new club The Pork Chop, which I now co own with him and eliphont551. I'm now in several clubs and participate in site tournaments and ladders as well. Gold Token has become my second family. Everyone here is for each other through the good and the bad. August's Contest of the Month is: Best Nugget August's contest is for the Best Nugget submitted throughout the month. All entries will be posted in a poll, and the winner will be announced in next month's newsletter.  Nuggets articles give players an opportunity to write various tutorials, strategy guides, and other materials related to playing each of our many games, as well as general information about our various site features. Once approved, the new Nugget article will be added to the appropriate category for all the players to see. Searching and sorting functionality is also available, allowing you to easily find what you are looking for. Guest and Wood level players can submit one Nugget per month. Players with a Silver membership or higher can submit as many articles as they want. When submitting articles, please be sure to only submit content that you have written yourself, or that you have a permission from the author to post here.
