Jest for Puns - Wordplay is sadly pun-derrated. However, if you like coming up with groan-inducing quips, or have heard or seen one that you think is great just post yours on this board! Think of various warning labels (the funnier, the better) you can come up with for the subject matter the host has posted. The last contest subject was "closet" and the winning warning label was..Warning: Use caution. There are enough different sizes in this closet! So come on by to give your funniest warning label and win one of the board's tokens and get a chuckle at all the different warnings players come up with!

Best Recipe Contest

January's winner is: fatdaddy's Vegetable Loaded Potroast

• Submitted by fatdaddy

2.5 lb (1 kg) boneless beef chuck roast
2.5 lb (1 kg) potatoes
2.5 lb (1 kg) onions
1 lb (1/2 kg) carrots
4 stalks celery
3 toes garlic
1 T (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1 T (15 ml) (A-1 type) steak sauce
1/2 t (2.5 ml) Liquid Smoke
1 T (15 ml) dried parsley
1/2 T (7.5 ml) black pepper
1T (5 ml) sea salt
1/4 C (60 ml) water
Olive oil cooking spray

Spray crockery with cooking spray
Sprinkle 1/2t (2.5 ml) black pepper on the bottom of crockery
Add water
Add roast
Mix sauces & smoke and drizzle over roast
Add 1/2t (2.5 ml) salt and pepper to top of roast.
Clean, scrub and pare vegetables to uniform sizes
Add garlic toes, celery, carrots, & potatoes to crockery
Sprinkle with parsley
Add onions
Sprinkle with 1/2t (2.5 ml)pepper and salt

Cook on high for 2 hours
Reduce to medium and continue cooking for 5 more hours

This fits well in my 9 1/2 quart cooker. If yours is smaller you may want to adjust the recipe accordingly.

1. What brought you to GoldToken?

• I was introduced to GT through another player here, aprildiamond

2. How'd you choose your name for GT?

• **Handyman* it is what I do for a living*...

3. What interests you most on GT?
I like all the variety of games here and the friendly players

4. Do you belong to any of the clubs? How about the chat only clubs (birds, kitties, garden)?

• I am in 11 clubs, but none of the chat only clubs ( yet )

5. What state or country do you reside in?

• I live in Thornton Colorado

6. Do you live in the city or country?

• I live in the city, it isn't a really crowded city, but you can see the mountains from my home, they are about 10 mins. away

7. What in your state or country do you think tourists should definitely see?

• Everything should be seen here, it is all awesome, I am a Native and haven't seen it all yet.

8. What hobbies to you have?
I enjoy Hunting , fishing , just about everything outdoors..I also enjoy making things out of old used wood

9. What other interests do you have?

I have one son who is 39

1 Granddaughter, she is 15 , grandson is 12

I work for myself. I am a Handyman by trade, I do most of my work for a homeowners association and have regulars. I love what I do, I schedule my time the way I want to

I Have 2 cats , rescued two brothers, Chip and Dale

I just turned 60

14. What's the farthest you've been from home?
Caribbean cruise last year on 2nd largest cruise ship, Symphony of the Seas

15. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?
I would love to just travel all over and do some hunting along the way

Mexican food

Testimonial Of The Month

You see, I was FORCED to join GoldToken. Yep, it's true. It was in the last century. I didn't even have a computer. I had this thing called WebTV and that's how I found the internet and I discovered a place to play chess called It's Your Turn, we called it IYT. Some guy named Chad, I think, had this club called Chess 4 Fun and I joined it and played many games with many new friends for months and months.
Then, one day, Chad announced that C4F was leaving IYT and going to a new home, a new site that he himself had created. He called it GoldToken and said all were welcome to stay in C4F but to do so we all had to jump over and join GoldToken. I liked C4F and didn't want to leave but yeah, I was then FORCED to join the new site.
I think there was only chess at first. But it was a long time ago so maybe there was backgammon too!
So we've come a long way and I'm still a member of C4F and there's a lot of really nice people here; who knew that being FORCED to do something could turn out so well.
