Ingredients:
For the Shortcake:
- 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups heavy whipped cream
For the Strawberries:
- 1 quart (4 cups) strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
For the Topping:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Heat oven to 400° F
In large bowl, stir the flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, baking soda and salt until blended. Cut in butter, using a pastry blender or fork, until mixture looks like crumbs
In small bowl, beat eggs and 2 cups heavy whipped cream until blended. Stir into flour mixture until mixture forms a soft dough. Using lightly floured fingers, pat and press dough in bottom of 15x10x1-inch ungreased pan
Bake 16 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, 1 hour
In large bowl, mix strawberries and 1/4 cup granulated sugar; stir to combine
When ready to serve, in a large chilled bowl, beat topping ingredients with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Spread top with with whipped cream. With a slotted spoon spread the sugared strawberries over top. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows; serve
Store covered in refrigerator

- It's a cheeky nickname meaning PC Chick - My career, for many decades, is in the computer world.
2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?
- I'm interested in ALL the things on GT! I mostly play Cribbage, Backgammon
and Dice games. 
3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?
- I live in Virginia, USA about 30 minutes from Washington DC. I love the mountains so I would recommend visiting anything in the Blue Ridge mountains. (unknown photo)

I came to GoldToken in 2006 after another game site I was on began having problems and someone suggested GoldToken as a good alternative. It turned out to be a GREAT site. It’s one of the very few sites I still play. I’ve always had “friends with paws” and am fortunate to live close to the beach and work just a block from the Gulf of Mexico, thus my game name of SandyPaws.
I like turn-based games and love the variety of games at GT. I’m also very happy with the chat option. I am often quiet except for a “good luck, have fun” greeting, but there are times when I am so glad to have met people that I feel I know from our discussions. I’ve even traveled around the state a bit and have met some GT folks in person. The clubs (I belong to more than I probably should) and the discussion forums are really nicely done. I like everything about GoldToken and appreciate the continual improvements and new games.
Working and volunteering at a church on Anna Maria Island (a vacationer’s paradise and, yes, right on the beach – a tough job location) takes up a large amount of my time, but when I have spare time I like walking on the beach, reading, and helping my friends with their computer questions. My family today consists of me, my son, and a variety of squirrels who live in the backyard and demand we keep them in fresh water, with a few nuts on the side. They tell me I have to do this because they are related to GT’s squirrels and if I want good rolls…. 😊

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.
If you decide to enter the world of blogging, you should decide what kind of blog you want your blog to be. What do you want to write about? Are you going to write about many things or something specific? Decide how often you are going to add entries - every day, once a week, once a month, etc.
Once you have decided what you are going to write about, you need to think about how you are going to write it or enter it into your blog, be it by text, by pictures or even external links. A great blog will take advantage of all of the above things. Your blog story or viewpoint can be enhanced and made much more enjoyable and interesting to read by the use of pictures and links.
Write about what you are passionate about, write about what you know and make sure you know what you are writing about. For the more serious bloggers, be aware that you won't be taken very seriously if your blog is full of grammar and spelling mistakes. So make sure you spellcheck.
