 ctober has arrived and with the changing of the season come several cool new Goldtoken features.Thanks to the excellent coding of Mecir We have our newest game - Go, new Platinum member Blogs (more details below), and new Platinum member Goldies. As this is the month traditionally associated with halloween, firefly has also created some special seasonal Platinum Goldies. Be sure to contact her if you are part of this group. A funny checker tale arrived by El Lobo Loco who ventured back to Las Vegas this September. He says he rarely runs into people he knows in his hometown, but traveled several hundred miles to hear his name being called by Lubabalo Kondalo, a friend from Africa he originally met at the American Checker Federations GAYP this last July. Lobo had no idea the World Qualifying Checker Tournament was being held that week and was taken quite by surprize! Likely the reason his name icon fits him so well! Interested in a Free Upgrade??? The jd91's Lighthouse Club is currently looking for new members to join in our active club. We are currently offering a free membership upgrade to the player who wins our first Dipole Private Match Tournament. We will begin the prize tournament on October 18th, so please join soon to be a part of it. We have a lot of old timers that have enjoyed GoldToken for years, and you are welcome to join our ladders for more practice. Our members are very helpful and you are welcome to join, even if it is for just that tournament, but we are sure you will want to remain after you have a look around and get comfortable. I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE WHO SIGNED THE GET WELL CARD FOR ME. IT WAS A COMPLETE, PLEASANT SURPRISE! MY GLAUCOMA SURGERY WAS IN JULY AND I HAD A RUNNING STITCH IN MY EYE FOR 2 MONTHS. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS RUNNING FOR BUT THE DOCTOR FINALLY GOT IT OUT OF THERE THE OTHER DAY LOL THE SURGERY WENT WELL AND THE PRESSURE IS DOWN WITHOUT USING DROPS, Thank_God! A blog is a 'not so private' webpage written much like a journal. Many blogs serve as personal online diaries or provide commentary, news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news. Blogs can use text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Blogs are greatly enhanced and made far more interesting to read by these things. The possibilites are endless. Our Platinum players have some blog decisions to make. Are you going to try your hand at blogging? What kind of blog would you want your blog to be? What do you want to write about? Are you going to write about many things or something specific? How often you are going to write? Every day, once a week, once a month? Write about what you are passionate about, write about what you know and make sure you know what you are writing about. For the more serious bloggers, you won't be taken very seriously if your blog is full of grammar and spelling mistakes. So make sure you spellcheck. No matter your blog content, people will continue to come back to read it as long as you continue to make it interesting. I have never seen and been involved with a website like GoldToken. Everyone is so friendly and there is a family atmosphere that is unrivaled by other sites and groups. laura lee is the dear friend that got me (hooked). She has walked me through anything I had trouble with. I am legally blind and need the extra help. dingbat has become a dear friend. Badger has given me a lot of help. Cayey is an inspiration. I am just getting to know so many others like DINGEROO who are all very special to me. I received a lovely get well card and sweet little gifts when I had my eye surgery and was completely surprised by the warm wishes and prayers by so many people. I've only been a member since Feb 2007 and because of the kindness of so many, I feel like I have been a member for years. I look forward to long lasting friendships, good conversations and many great games. Thank you Staff and fellow members for making me feel at home!
