Did you notice the fancy logo on October 5th? It was GoldToken's unofficial 19th anniversary! The site wasn't officially active until January 1, 2000, but players were able to sign up as early as October 5, 1999. Luckily, GoldToken survived the Y2K frenzy.

Site tips and helpful tools

I've got a problem with one of my games. Who should I contact?

This is a common question! First, check to see if it's really a problem - it sounds like a no-brainer, but there are some interesting twists that are commonly forgotten about or overlooked during game play. For example, forced jumps in Halma. So, check the rules of the game. They can be accessed via a link beneath your game board or through the "New Game" link...when you click on a game type, you'll see links to the rules for that game and any variants. You can also post on the discussion board for the game in question, accessed by clicking on the "Game Discussions" link at the top of the page. GoldToken has so many helpful and knowledgeable players, and they are a great resource! If you are unable to find an explanation for the problem you've encountered, then the Bug Reports discussion board may be the place for you.

Best Recipe Contest

September's winner is: Chicken Breast with Leeks and Asparagus

Chicken breast with Leeks and Asparagus.

This could be ok for a diabetic as it has no empty calories.
I had these ingredients, thought they might taste good together and found out they do.
I did it all in one small covered pot.

Ingredients
1 t (10ml) butter
1 t (10ml) olive oil
1 Leek
1 boneless skinless chicken breast
1/2lb (1/4kg) fresh asparagus
1/2C (100ml) chicken stock
Salt, pepper and paprika to taste

Directions
Chop leek and saute in butter & oil
Add chicken breast and coat with sauteed leek
Add asparagus, and broth and season to taste
Cover the pot, briefly bring liquid to a boil then bake at 250dF (120dC) for 2.5 hr

Well, guys, it looks like Fall (Autumn) is coming - in this part of the country, anyway. More time to spend playing games on GoldToken? Or maybe spending some time on the Pony Up! board while waiting for more games? A new game has been introduced on the Pony Up! board, called "Jeopardy", where you have to answer the statement with a question in order to guess correctly. So who can't use more Golderos or profile tokens? Maybe use any won golderos to extend your membership, help someone else with their membership, or buy tokens for yourself or a friend from the Recognition Tokens - GoldToken's Treasure Trove page. It's such a fun way to win! Click on the subscribe box on the Pony Up! board and take a guess at some of the contests that are run. We would like to say to stormy rebel for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.



1. What brought you to GoldToken, and how'd you choose your name for GT?

• I came to GT when the site Its Your Turn disbanded. My GT name came from GT player Rebel Rider. He was Rebel and I was Stormy Rebel.

2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favorite game?

• The people here on GT inspire me the most. My favorite game on here is backgammon.

3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?

• I am from the USA. I live in Tennessee. People should go see Graceland and the music places in Nashville.

4. What hobbies do you have?

• I love to do woodworking, making yard ornaments.

5. Children?

• I do not have any children.

6. Do you work? What kind of work do/did you do?

• I've been disabled since the age of 34, but I worked in factories.

7. Any pets?

• I had 3 pets that me and my mom took care of - Maggie, Mollie And Minnieme - all have passed on to be with Momma, who passed almost 3 yrs ago. All were my life.

8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Male or Female?

• I'm 57 years old and single. I'm female.

9. What's the farthest you've been from home?

• I've Been To Kansas and South Carolina and Florida 1 time.

10. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?

• If I could be anywhere, I'd be in Florida on the beach.

• Fall

• I joined GoldToken in Feb of 2009 at the invitation of my Brother “Slappy” and my Uncle “Fimmer”
• I have made many friends on GoldToken, and have had a couple become long distance friends.
• I play backgammon and many versions of it, that is my favorite. I play several versions of shake rattle and roll. And friends have been know to ask me to play games I have no idea how to play – but I will give them all a shot.
• I love GoldToken – it is an easy game site to use. I have tried playing backgammon on other sites but none are as user friendly as GoldToken. I also find when you ask them for help it comes quickly and with great friendliness.
• I log on at least once per day, some days I log on and play multiple times. I love tournaments, and ladders as well. I find playing players who are better than me improves my game.

Icon Mania!

will be celebrated this month with Halloween icons. They can be found in Rows 1 and 2. Remember if you already have a saved icon for Halloween and you request one from the board, the saved icon will be placed on your profile first. Then, if you would like to exchange it for the one on the board and it is still available, we can do that and place your previously saved icon back into circulation. This way no icon gets forgotten.

Thanksgiving and Christmas will be fast approaching, so I will place those icons on the board on the next day after a holiday is over. For example, Halloween is over on Oct 31 so I will place Thanksgiving icons on the board on the 1st of November.

Fairy Tales Club has a new format and a new name. Fairy Tales is now The Multi-Player Gaming Center Club. The club will only be playing Multi-Games, both wiki and monthly wikiless.
