- Squared Brackets are the key ----> [ ] and are used for the creation of any wiki. (Followed with a space between the text and the bracket.)
- Go to your club wiki start page:
- To find it click on "see the club wiki" on your club members' page
- Click the link at the bottom "edit this page"
- Anywhere in the white typing box type two square brackets containing your page name.
- as in ~~~>[ Page name ]
- leave a space either side of the first and last letters.
- Click on Save
- Look at the saved page and click on the link [ Page name ] that should now be visible..
- The link will be black and will underline when you run your mouse over it~~~>[ Page name ]
- If the link doesn't work you probably didn't put the spaces in.
- You should get a box saying:
- [ Page name ] has not been defined. Would you like to create [ Page name ] or return to....
- Click on Create
- Type something on the page.. anything will do as you can change it later.
- Click on Save
- You have now created your new page titled "Page name", and the link to it will be blue.
Note... there are several characters that are not allowed in wiki page names. & is one of them.
How do I link to a club wiki from outside my club?
- You just put the club name followed by colons and then the name of the wiki in the club you want to link to. Here is an example: [ November '06 Swiss Knockout ]
- Please note (do not use spaces between the club name, colon, and the first letter of your named wiki you are linking with, if you have any spaces there, the link will not work) You can then post on a DB, newsletter, and in Private messages and it will direct a club member to the wiki (please note: this will only work for club members, non members will not be able to view the wiki and be prompted to create a Main Site wiki) This is a new feature...in the past you could never link outside of a club.
How do I link to players and tournaments?
- Curley Brackets ----> { } can be used to direct someone to Clubs, Discussion Boards (main or club boards), Tournaments, Players Profiles, Games, and pages made by management as info page.
- [ How to enter a game number ]
- [ How to enter a name ]
- Once you understand how to enter a name and game number, using the same method, by looking at your URL you can also type in the following codes for various links:
{ Tournament: } | { Tournament# } | { Board } |
{ Info: # } | { News# } | { Poll# } |
