Game Of The Month

September's game of the month is Moultezim! Join us in a fun Double Elimination Tournament by signing up today for The September 2013 - Game of the Month - Moultezim! Tournament!

Moultezim is not difficult to play, but it has some major differences if you're used to playing backgammon.

• At the beginning, you must move your first piece around the board to your opponent's side of the board before you can move any other pieces.

• Your pieces are SAFE! Your opponent cannot send you to the bar in this variant (and likewise, you cannot send him/her to the bar). So spread your pieces out as much as possible. It is especially helpful if you can get six of your pieces in a row to block your opponent's progress. Some areas of the board are better than others for this strategy, but I will let you find that out from personal experience.

• Make sure you keep a few pieces in your entry area, so that you are not limited to rolling just a couple of numbers to enter the board. By the same token , try to block your opponent's entry as much as possible.

• DO NOT let your opponent get six pieces in a row. Be sure to spread your pieces out early, when possible, to prevent it from happening.

Best Recipe Contest

August's winner is: Chocolate-Covered Banana Cheesecake w/almonds

• Submitted by pegasiswolf

CHOCOLATE-COVERED BANANA CHEESECAKE WITH ALMONDS

(NOTE #1: you may omit the chocolate coating if desired.. this will still make a very
delicious CARMELIZED BANANA CHEESECAKE WITH ALMONDS)
(NOTE #2: for those with allergies the almonds may be omitted from all phases, replace with vanilla extract in the filling)

wax paper
9" springform pan

CRUST

1 1/2 c vanilla wafers, crushed
1/3 c melted butter
1/4 c almonds, chopped very fine

mix well and press into bottom only of 9" springform pan, chill 1 hr or until set

FILLING

24 ounces of cream cheese, softened (3 8-oz pkgs)
3 RIPE bananas, mashed or pureed
3/4 c sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 Tbsp almond extract (1 oz of amaretto liqueur may be substituted if desired)

preheat oven to 325 degrees...
cream together the cream cheese and sugar...til light and fluffy.... beat in eggs, one at a time...
stir in the 3 RIPE bananas and the extract... mix well...pour on top of the chilled crust
bake at 325degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hr or until soft-set and golden (top may crack.. that is ok),
set aside to cool completely (may be refrigerated if desired)

CHOCOLATE COATING

2 c chocolate chips (1 12-oz pkg)

Once cheesecake is cooled, remove sides of springform pan... cut wax paper to fit around the sides of the cheesecake...
remove paper from cheesecake and lay paper flat on a hard surface....

melt chocolate chips in double boiler or microwave... spread melted chocolate to coat the wax paper...
allow the chocolate to set until no longer glossy and chocolate is firm to the touch yet still pliable.....
press the wax paper to the sides of the cheesecake....chocolate side IN.... refrigerate 1-2 hrs (or overnight if u wish)
once chilled, carefully peel off the paper to reveal chocolate coated sides

TOPPING

3 fresh bananas
1/2 c butter
1/4 c brown sugar
almonds, very thinly sliced (optional)

slice the 3 fresh bananas on the diagonal... in nonstick frypan... melt the 1/2 c butter and the brown sugar..bring to a
boil, stirring constantly... add sliced bananas and continue to cook until bananas are carmelized...

arrange carmelized bananas on top of the cheesecake... arrange almond slices over bananas (if desired).. (u may drizzle
1 Tbsp of amaretto liqueur over the top to finish it off, if desired)

can be served immediately or refrigerated for later

1. What brought you to GoldToken?
A Friend told me about GoldToken.

How'd you choose your name for GT?
My initials and my dogs name

2. What interests you most on GT?
Making "Friends" and playing the games.

Your all time favorite game here?
**Backgammon**

3. Do you belong to any of the clubs?
Yes, Several Clubs

4. What State or Country do you reside in?
Texas, USA

Do you live in the City or Country?
I live in a small town just on the North side of a city..Fort Worth.

What in your State or Country do you think tourists should definitely see?
Our Zoo is a really nice place to see here.

5. What hobbies to you have?
Don't have much time for hobbies these days. I work full time and come home to take care of my 94 yr old Father in law.
But I do love to fish.

6. Children?
2 kids...1girl & 1boy

Grandchildren?
5 grand kids
No they don't play on here

7. Do you work? If so what kind of work do you do?
Do you enjoy your job?
Yes, I work full time for Walmart as a Cashier and it will be 10yrs there this Oct. I do enjoy most of my customers very much.

8. Any pets?
We used to have 5 dogs..then 2 and now none since my husband passed away.
Can't have a puppy around Dad right now he's too unstable on his feet and could trip on a puppy.

9. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50?
I'm well over 50 but still going strong.

10. What's the farthest you've been from home?
I've been to Canada on a trip while on a visit to family in New York. Beautiful Country.

11. If you could be anywhere right now where would that be?
Not sure where I'd like to be right now but it would be nice to go on a nice long "Lazy" cruise.

12. Favorite season?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year but I love Spring with all the flowers.

Testimonial Of The Month

I must start off with this site was a life saver for me....I was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of last year. I started my Chemotheraphy in October. I am a very active individual always on the go and work two jobs. The therapy brought me to my knees and I got cabin fever really fast being stuck in the house day in and day out...the only time I got to go out was for hospitals and doctors appointments. My husband (BennyC) works long hours and most days so he searched for a site that has cribbage as I love cribbage and came across this site in November. I joined as a guest to try it...loved it then eventually moved to a Platinum.

What I love most about the site is players that I met and the organization of all games and tourneys. I met quite a few friends, Sharron, Doc Holiday, AngusLady, prj, JudyS, Textbrit35, WhispyWillow, RaceMom, Budgie, Abby Normal, Black Angus, Badger, Bluejay, RabidWolfoftheWolfPack, SwampFox, GreggyW, BlockHead. I could go on as this is to name a few of the great people here.

I am a member of numerous clubs Banquet of Blessings, Animal Icon, Budgies Variety, Fairy Tales, Friendship only to name a few. All of the clubs I am a member of are truly well organized and have great members.

I recently assisted in the starting of the Summer Olympics. I am computer illiterate but JayRAA helped me tremendously and gave me confidence. Thank you JayRAA you truly are a team player.

I am married (sort of) to Benny C (AKA Dave). We have 3 lovely children (well sort of) a beautiful dog (check out her picture on my profile) her name is Ginger. We rescued 2 cats (picture on profile) their names are Pepper and Spice. We live in Guelph Ontario. Dave is originally from Croatia which I had the honors of visiting 3 times and am planning on going again next year. I am originally from the wonderful Province of Nova Scotia (Cape Breton) google it as the pictures are amazing.

Anyways thank you so much for asking me for this it is an honor for sure.

I would just like to thank Badger and the GoldToken team for having such a great site and I am proud to be a part of it.

The members at The Overall Competition Club have voted for a new format for the 2014 edition. Each month six different games will be offered with players choosing a maximum of five. The 2014 Overall Competition starts January 31st, 2014.

McGoo98 is leading the February 2013 Challenge with 48 points, followed by TrueIndian, DavidJ , Hamsarnie, jklh , the celt, Road Runner, cmacker, FrodoBaggins, and Red Panda. The winner of each monthly challenge wins three golderos (two and one to second and third place). The three best overall players win forty, twenty, and ten golderos.
