| Wiki Questionsfirst, goto [ Feature requests ] your question might not be a feature!
- Will old wiki revisions ever be archived/deleted?*
- Yep. They only stick around for a week.
- So what if no one edits a wiki for over a week?
- Then that Wiki will have no previous revisions.
- How can we link from our Club pages to Main Wiki pages for reference..??*
- In a club, you can precede a link with the word Main:
- So, for example, you could type in " Main:Wiki Questions " (except enclosed in [] instead of quotes) and it would take you to this page instead of creating a new Wiki Questions page in your club.
- How can we get rid of the brackets around the links to other wiki pages?*
- Edit the page, and delete the brackets. But when you do that, it is no longer a wiki link. It will just be text.
- Rephrased: Can you reference another wiki page without having the square brackets showing?
- Is there a way to just rename an existing wiki page without having to create an entirely new page with the different name and transfer everything over to it?*
- No. You have to copy and paste it into the new page.
- Where is a list of the special key words?*
- Try [ Links, lines and spaces ].
- Rephrased: Are there more than 4 special key words?
- No. At least, not yet. Are there any in particular that you are looking for?
- Yes. How about something like wiki: pageref? In order to reference a page w/o brackets.
- I am sensing you have some sort of hangup with the brackets. Were you abused with brackets as a child? <grin> The brackets are used as a visual clue that a phrase is a wiki link.
- Yes. I was abused as a puppy. Some older dogs hung me from a bracket and told me I was going to Korea.
- How do you start a "fresh" wiki page?*
- Simply create a link in one wiki page, and then after you save or preview that page, click on the new link, and you'll have a fresh page to work with. [ How to make a new wiki page ]
- Did anyone else add any wiki favourites? I had added the tournament page to my wiki list, and it used to show up in my game screen, but now it's gone. Is it a timed thing? If the page hasn't been updated in so long, then it doesn't show? Maybe if the page hasn't been updated since you last visited?*
- The Hotlist function works like the Subscribed Discussion Board function. It will show up on your Game Sheet if there have been recent changes to it. Once you have viewed the page, it does not show up any more.
- Why don't these links work?*
- [ The page that doesn't exist and hopefully will never be created because it's an example of a page that doesn't exist ]
- [ Backgammon Challenge #2 ]
- The first is too long. The second uses punctuation. Most punctuation is not allowed in a Wiki page title.
- Why is it called "Wiki Web"?*
- How do you get off a WIKI Page? so that it doesn't always show up when you no longer areinterested in it?
- go to My Wiki Hotlist and UnCheck the box(es).....(o:
- I would really like to be able to link to a wiki page from a club board, is this possible? Or is it a future possibility like the linking to profiles??*
- on a club board or wiki, to link to a main wiki, add the word Main: before your wiki name... see [ Main: Links, lines and spaces ]....inside a club all links go to club links unless you specify "main".....as yet there isn't any way to get to other non-wiki pages except for profiles, clubs and game numbers...(o:
- is it possible to link to my club wiki pages via my profile, I have worked out how to link directly to the club with The Backgammon Tournament Club and tried [ Tournament Calendar ] to get to the club wiki page but this wont work on a profile, is there something else I can try, or will the club links only work within the club?
- Unfortunately, there is no simple way to link from a general page, such as a profile, to a private page, such as a club wiki. The main reason for this is that since club wikis are only viewable by club members, but your profile is visible to everyone, showing a link that some people can't follow is counter-intuitive.
- Whoops! I accidentally made two of the same Wiki pages. Is there any way to delete a Wiki page after I have created it?*
- No, you just have to erase the content of one of them.
- Is HTML still avalible in our profile, DB's, etc.?
- No. What are you trying to do that the Wiki Formatting doesn't take care of for you?
- Is there a way to reference the players by their number? That way when they change their nicks it would automatically pick up their new name.
- Yes, but there's really no need to do so. When you type in { "Player: Name" } it is stored in the database as { "Player#Number" }.
- Silly me. I should have looked into this before asking a dumb question. Hope this clears up my reputation. LOL
- I've just been reading about Ratings. Are ratings for "Lucky Trax" based on the ELO formula (20 games) or on the FIBS formula (400 games)?
- Your question is not about wikis. I suggest you ask the question in the Trax or the GoldToken Help discussion board.
- Is there a way to have comments in Wiki Pages? Something that only shows when you edit a page (or maybe when you view the page source )?
