I thought Showalter was up for that. Mets hired Aaron Boone's bench coach, which isn't exactly what I would call the "pick of the litter." Everybody wanted Counsell but the Cubs backed up the armored truck.

Did you see Cashman's meltdown with the media? He needs a long vacation.
