But after a player chooses a pitch, according to the rules the team up at bat then rolls two dice to determine the result of that pitch.

So if the result of the play is determined randomly via a dice roll, I don't understand how a player can "guess" which pitch their opponent can't hit, even if they are the best guesser in the world.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the point in a game that is 100% luck. Of course, maybe that's just me. Sure, a bit of randomness is fine... I love backgammon and poker for example... but if a two-year-old can play as well as an adult, I don't see the point.
