Posted by Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe on 3 Feb 2024 at 7:25AM If you get the chance, please check out my latest photo, I've decided to use 54mm pirate figures instead of the 28mm figures. I'll be using my 54mm Expeditionary Force America sailor figures from the War of 1812. I ordered and received a second Playmobil pirate ship on Thursday, I have it modified already and ready to paint. The two ships will be placed on a 2ft x 2ft ocean gaming mat, during the player's plotting phase a screen will be placed between the ships and removed when the plotting is completed. This project is getting out of hand, I've now spent slightly over $300 on materials: $100 for the two pirate ships, $50 for 6 of the long boats, $100 for 20 54mm pirate/sailor figures, $35 for 8 sheets of plastic sheet card, $25 for the cannons, plus misc. materials. I still need to purchase 6 more of the long boats. If you are the designer of High Seas, my complements, it lends itself really well to a miniatures game! I'm considering possibly adding carronades and swivel guns to the weapons mix. Today my grandson and I will put to sea for a few High Seas encounters, I'll post pictures. |
