Have you tried the new game,
TrioTiles? It's a game for 2 - 4 players that resembles Dominoes, but is played with triangular tiles. It's a lot of fun!
We're 2/3 of the way through 2025! Some of us remember when this year sounded so futuristic.

GoldToken continues to be one of my favorite ways to stay in touch with friends and family and to compete with complete strangers! I hope September finds you well.
Wishing you much luck and tons of fun!

August's winner is:
Philly cheesesteak meatloaf
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large onion chopped
1 green bell pepper chopped small
1/2 cup of whole milk
1/2 cup mushrooms chopped optional family loves them I hate them
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup bread crumbs regular, italian style or panko
1 large egg
1/2 tsp salt & 1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp Adobo seasoning
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
8 slices of mozzarella OR provolone cheese. I used mozz (Thick CUT)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
In a medium skillet sauté the diced onion & peppers in oil until tender & soft.
Once peppers and onions are cooked, you then mix them in with the rest of the ingredients, including meat & milk - (except sliced cheese) in a large mixing bowl. Work mixture with your hands until fully incorporated.
Lightly spray a loaf pan with pam spray or butter or even olive oil, then take exactly HALF of the mixture & place into the prepared loaf pan
Top it with 4 slices of your choice of cheese
Place the remaining meat mixture on top of the cheese BUT reserving the last 4 slices, set those aside
Bake for 30 minutes
Remove from the oven, top with the last 4 slices, sprinkle with parsley then put back into the oven for a remaining 10-15 minutes OR until the cheese is melted to your liking (I like mine a bit crispy)

**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**
We would like to say

to
Big Giant Head for letting us step into their personal life for a bit.
1. How'd you choose your name for GT?
- When I first came here I tried to use my real world nickname as my user name. Unfortunately it was already in use. My nickname, for reasons far too long, detailed and boring to go in to here, is Badger. For a while I used the name The Badger because I obviously wasn't feeling too creative at the time I was trying to think of a name. Unfortunately this caused me to get lots of messages that were meant for GT's Badger which initially caused me great confusion. So I decided it was time for a change. At the time I had been binge-watching 3rd Rock
From the Sun. (unknown photo) One of the occasional characters in it is played by William Shatner and I decided to just go with it, thus I became Big Giant Head.
2. What interests you most on GT? Do you have a favourite game?
- There's a good range of games available here. I haven't really played anywhere else in years, a little bit of dailygammon but that's it. One of the reasons I stay here is because people are generally nicer to each other on the forums than some of the other places I used to frequent.
- Backgammon
would be my favourite GT game. It's in my top three all-time 'real world' games and I've been playing it for about 45 years so far.
3. What state or country do you reside in? What do you think tourists should definitely see?
- I live in Great Britain, just a bit to the north of London. Personally I love the Tate Modern in London. Whether you enjoy art or not I guarantee that something there will set your mind wandering.
If you are visiting in the summer try and take in a re-enactment of the English Civil War.

It's one of my hobbies (more on that later) and if you let me know you're coming I'll give you a personal tour of the weapons

and tactics of the period as well as a pottes history of why it happened and its effects on the modern era.
4. What hobbies do you have?
- So many hobbies.... Here are my main ones, in no particular order.
- I am a member of the English Civil War Society. That means that several times a year I can be found in 17th century clothing playing the part of a pikeman (usually) or artilleryman (occasionally).
This often happens at or near locations that were involved in the Civil War and as a result I have been able to stay in some wonderful locations. I've been doing it since 1989. During the battle re-enactments, being a pikeman is very physical and I'm pleased to say that I usually set the pace for my regiment despite some of them being a third of my age.
I've made some great friends over the years and always enjoy our get togethers whether it's a battle, a drill display or a banquet.
- I enjoy football. That's the version that some of you call Soccer,
but I'm ok with that. My team is Enfield Town FC who are completely fan owned. So technically, I own a football club. We are quite a long way below the teams that most of you will have heard of. We currently play in the National League South and I go to as many games home and away as I can, usually taking my partner and/or my daughter with me. When I'm not cheering on the Towners, I am a ground hopper. That's the name given to people who visit different grounds and stadia to watch football even if their team isn't playing. As a result I've been to at least 85 locations at all levels across great Britain. Over the last few years I've seen the England women's tram lift the European Championship at Wembley, I've watched the Wales women's team lose to Denmark, I watched Celtic v Hibernian in the Scottish Cup semi-final, I watched Llantwit Major draw against Enfield Town in the European FENIX trophy, all the way down to Oracle Components playing on a waterlogged field in a lowly local league.
- Then there are boardgames. I am a player and a collector. I originally got in to the hobby through tabletop wargaming. That's where you use miniatures to represent soldiers
and use rules that reflect the tactics and capabilities of those troops. I wasn't very good at painting though, so I got in to what are called hex and counter wargames. That's where counters are used to represent troops or equipment, and the map is overlaid with hexes for calculating movement and line of sight and so on. There are games covering everything from Cavemen through to far future science fiction, with a huge amount of games based on various actions from WWII. They can cover anything from man on man combat to whole armies being represented by a single counter. Then one day I heard about a couple of games called Catan and Carcassonne that seemed to be everywhere. They were pretty much the start of the new wave of boardgaming which has now become a huge hobby across the world - it isn't just Monopoly and Scrabble any more. I own over 500 games. If you include expansion it's nearly 600. I try not buy new games unless I can get them at a big discount, mainly because I don't have the time to play the games I already have.
- Music - I almost always have music playing.

If it isn't coming through a speaker it's probably playing on repeat in my mind. I absolutely love live music as well. I'm a fan of punk music and I love to be in the mosh pit. You know the bit where everyone is flying around in to each other.
For me it heightens the shared experience and exemplifies the antagonistic nature of the music but in an amazingly friendly way. My musical taste crosses almost the entire spectrum and there's very little I won't listen to at least once or twice. My current favorite performers would be (in no particular order) Idles, Sarah Jane Morris, Marillion, Amyl and The Sniffers and Al Stewart.
- I love to read.
I read a lot of military history, a lot of science fiction, and a few other books. I travel to work by train
so I always manage a few chapters a day on my commute. If I'm not at work I pop in to town and read a chapter at the local coffee shop.
- Then there's TV. I count it as a hobby because there's so much good content out there these days. Recent highlights have been The Good Place, Grace & Frankie, Stranger Things, Community and Black Mirror. I'm also a big fan of science fiction, especially Blakes 7 and Doctor Who in all it's forms. When people ask me who my favourite Doctor is, I say Doctor Who.
5. Children? Grandchildren?
- When I was younger, I never really knew if I wanted children or not.
I sort of assumed that when I found my life partner, I'd know if kids were going to happen or not. Here I am 27 year later with four children,
one grandchild
and a separation on the cards. It's all good though, we're closer now than we have been for a long time.
6. Do you work? What kind of work do/did you do?
- I am a member of the Metropolitan Police.
It is usually a good job and usually fun, although as I'm sure you can imagine it has its moments.
7. Any pets?
- I currently have a cat, Cookie Dough.
She's tiny. Fully grown adult but the size of a year old cat. Nothing else at the moment.
8. Are you under 30?___ 30 to 50? ___ or over 50? Male or Female?
- Mid 50's, male.
9. Favorite food?
- I don't know if I have a favourite food, but I think if it wasn't for Pizza
I could've played Aquaman.
10. What's the farthest you've been from home?
- I have travelled through a lot of Europe and made it the USA twice.
I have been as far as Hong Kong but that was a long time ago. I am in the very early stage of planning a trip to Australia to visit friends. I say it's the early stages of planning - so far all I've done is say 'I'm planning on visiting Australia'.
11. If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?
- Holding a winning lottery ticket. Or maybe back in the mosh pit I was in for Idles a couple of weeks ago, it was beautiful. Or the front row of my pike block about to hit the enemy. Or behind the goal at Donkey Lane watching Enfield Town play. Or with my grandson watching Bluey. Or playing Cribbage with my partner. Basically, I don't know. I will always try to find the beauty of every situation I'm in so almost everything has a meaning for me.
12. Favorite season?
- The football season.
Oh sorry, I meant Season 13 or 14 of Doctor Who,
probably the best of the classic era. Oh wait, I get you now. Spring.
It goes boing.
13. If you could meet anyone (living or dead) in the world, who would it be?
- Far too many to choose from. If this was actually possible I'd probably spend so long choosing that the opportunity would pass me by. Either that or I'd randomly pick whoever crossed my mind first. So how about my favourite two authors, Iain Banks and Iain M Banks? Yes, they're the same person, but he used slightly different versions of his name depending on what the subject of the novel was. I'd like to talk to him to try and understand where he got his universe from, how he created his characters; his novels are so rich and full of detail whilst remaining fairly accessible. He's also the only writer who wrote a character I felt myself falling in love with.
If there are any questions you would like to see asked in future interviews, please let us know.

Testimonial Of The Month |
Brought to you by: *GoldToken* Players |
I joined here in January, 2017, but had learned about this site long before that from another player I believe on Itsyourturn.com. My favorite games here are the Loco Ochos, Ludo games, Acey Deucey, Rummikub games, Dice Chess games, and Shake games. I don't have a favorite club since I try to play something in all of the ones I joined. I am retired so I spend a good bit of my time planning my next adventure which is usually a cruise to somewhere interesting or a day/overnight bus trip with a 50+ group that we travel with.
