• Congrats to aprildawn

aprildawn was the first to find the new feature being tested on the beta site! She won a 1-year extension to her membership for the contest on the Gold Members discussion board. In case you missed it, here's the information on that new feature: Thanks to Robyn Hode and Mecir, we have just added Fast Ladders. Go to the Ladders link, and you can switch to Fast Ladders near the top of the page. Fast Ladders only includes main games at this time, with 2 days to move, and vacations/etc ignored. There's a new linking tool for it too: { Link: Fastladders } will take you to Fast Site Ladders. Please note, players have encountered some hiccups with this new feature, but Mecir is working to fix the problem.

Best Recipe Contest

March's winner is: Grama's Irish Stew

• Submitted by baron_backgammon

Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
3 lbs meat, cubed beef (stew meat, steak or brisket), venison or lamb if you want. 2 cups beef stock
12 ounces stout beer(Dark)
3 sweet red onions chopped
1 lb potatoes, chopped
1/2 lb carrot, chopped 1/2 lb parsnip, chopped
1/2 lb cabbage, chopped
1/2 lb rutabaga, chopped
salt, pepper, parsley

Directions
Sweat (saute) the onions, don't caramelize them. Put aside.
Add meat to pan and saute until browned on all sides at med high.
In big pot, everything in, simmer for an hour or so to taste.
Simple, hearty. Enjoy.
There won't be any leftovers.

Testimonial Of The Month

What bought me to GoldToken was my dear friend ellieoop. We use to play games at IYT and she kept telling me about Goldtoken. I don’t even know if IYT even exist anymore.

Lorraine is my name and the first club that I belonged to was called “The Renegades Club”. Adding the Club name to our name was our version of a #hashtag. The Renegades club was started by Phoenix. It was and still remains my favorite club. I had so much fun working in that club with Phoenix. We challenged other clubs and the only way to keep scores was to write it down and compare notes. This was way before the wiki days. Although it saddens me, I had to disband the club because I work too many hours to keep it running properly. The person that helped me run it was "mcinturf". She tried to come back to goldtoken last year but trouble with her hands and other ailments prevents her from doing a lot of typing. Although I still call and chat with her, I miss her being here.

My favorite game here is zero G. This game is so challenging. It is a brainy game. It is the only game that I care about ratings in and don’t want anyone to beat me. Suffice it to say what I want does not matter because I get beat up a lot in this game. Chess is a favorite of mine also. I self-taught myself a few years ago and needless to say, I did not do a good job. I still love it and I own two chess boards which I never put up.

Did you hear about the Egg Hunt for on the Pony Up! Board?

Fun was had by all. 22 eggs were put randomly on different profiles, and of course we had the Golden Egg placed as well. Lots of Easter Baskets got filled with our winner being pepperbeach, 2nd place going to laura lee, and the finder of the Golden Egg was Jools. There were many honorable mentions as well.
We will be having a Sock Hop before the year is over, with socks to be found on profiles, so be watching for that one.
There are many new contests in the works . I hope you all had fun, and I'm looking forward to more fun times on the Pony Up! Board so make sure you have it ticked so you do not miss anything. Remember, there is a winner each time; the prize could be golderos, tokens or your name up top. Have a great April!
